What Sets Continuous Stainless Apart?

21 July 2026

“From design and approvals through to fabrication and installation, we are specialised in delivering end-to-end stainless-steel solutions. Every project celebrates trusted relationships, skilled workmanship, and a commitment to solving complex problems.”

Continuous Stainless is now approaching one year under new leadership. With Beau Robinson recently joining James Hurley and Matai Kelly as directors, the company is entering an exciting new chapter of growth and opportunity. The shared wealth of knowledge and experience within the leadership team continues to strengthen both the business and the wider Waikato economy.

Continuous Stainless has earned its reputation by consistently delivering quality results and fostering trusted relationships. This article highlights some of the company’s interesting projects and takes a closer look at how and why Continuous Stainless has built a company, a brand, and a team culture focused on products and services designed for longevity — built to stand the test of time for generations to come.

Nearly 20 Years of Continuous Stainless

Continuous Stainless began as a small family business operating from a home garage. Built on quality workmanship and strong client relationships, the company quickly earned a strong reputation within the Waikato engineering industry. With next year marking 20 years in business, this milestone will represent a significant achievement for the company and its team.  The company continues to grow while staying true to the values and standards it was founded on.

Over the past two decades, Continuous Stainless has grown into a close-knit team of skilled professionals capable of manufacturing, fabricating, modifying, maintaining, repairing, retrofitting, welding, and successfully managing challenging and complex projects. Strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors have also played a key role in the company’s success. The team culture at Continuous Stainless supports the delivery of high-specification, detail-focused work, often within demanding site environments.

Safety Without Compromise

The workshop environment at Continuous Stainless remains collaborative and solutions-focused, with the team focused on turning detailed plans into high-quality projects built to last. A strong workplace culture, combined with mentorship, craftsmanship, and continuous improvement, continues to support both rewarding careers and quality project delivery. As Beau explains, “When people enjoy coming to work, it shows in the quality of what we deliver.”

That same commitment to quality extends across all areas of the business. Continuous Stainless subscribes to industry news and training, with expert Health and Safety reviews boasting a 5-Star Prequal score which highlights a key strength behind delivery.

James from the Continuous Stainless leadership team raises the bar on promoting healthy work culture across industry, “we pride ourselves on completing projects to the highest of standards while not compromising on our commitment to staff safety.”

Our skilled workforce is what enables us to consistently deliver high-quality outcomes, every tradesman at Continuous Stainless is Trade Certified and we have high calibre apprentices following in their footsteps.”

The People Powering Continuous Stainless

The team at Continuous Stainless has grown organically over the years, built around strong relationships, shared values and a genuine passion for quality workmanship. As Matai explains, “Having good people on our team is the core of our operations.” James echoes this sentiment, adding, “Steady expansion has helped create an environment where everyone — from directors through to apprentices — enjoys being part of the journey.”

It quickly became clear that the company’s culture has evolved naturally alongside the business itself. In an industry driven by deadlines, precision and project delivery, Continuous Stainless has created a workplace where people are encouraged to develop their skills, contribute ideas and take pride in their workmanship.

“We believe in giving back to the industry,” says Matai. “We train highly skilled apprentices, with some starting a couple of afternoons each week after school before progressing into full apprenticeships.” That pathway is particularly important to the leadership team, as the current directors themselves started out on the tools and understand the value of learning practical skills from experienced tradespeople.

The company currently employs six apprentices at different stages of their training, reflecting a strong commitment to developing skilled tradespeople for the future. With a fully equipped workshop and exposure to innovative fabrication projects, apprentices and emerging engineers are encouraged to think creatively, solve problems and challenge themselves.

Featured Project: Morrinsville Hopper Upgrade

Demonstrating this capability under a tight four-week deadline, the Morrinsville hopper removal project relied on close collaboration between Continuous Stainless and the client’s engineering team to achieve a successful outcome. Projects like this reflect the type of complex work the company has been busy delivering across the region. The project involved the removal of six hoppers, while two remained onsite — one operational and the other requiring repair and sealing.  A series of complex requirements were posed to the team, highlighting the precision, reliability, and attention to detail the company is known for – particularly in demanding environments where durability and longevity are essential. Despite the demanding timeframe, the project was delivered smoothly thanks to detailed planning, experienced leadership, and strong teamwork on site.

One aspect of delivery involved working within a High Hygiene Area. This required the team to temporarily decommission the area and remove a section of wall (plug) to enable getting the hoppers out and platform in. The team also needed to build engineered platforms around the hoppers, adding further complexity to the project.

Before removing the hoppers

Another challenge was the limited space available to remove the hoppers. To overcome this, the team at Continuous Stainless brought in Waikato-based business, Pollock Cranes. The Hamilton branch manager Dan, being a wealth of knowledge and a pleasure to work with.

Projects like the Morrinsville Hopper Upgrade are embraced by the leadership team, who pride themselves on collaborative problem-solving and quality delivery. “I always admired the onsite relationship of the team at Continuous Stainless,” states Beau, “It’s through working with James and Matai that I was brought into the great team culture at Continuous Stainless”.

After removing the hampers and platform installed.

In addition to addressing the technical challenges, the project supported a circular economy by sending the hoppers to a specialist metal recycler that recovers valuable materials and returns them to the manufacturing supply chain, where they are incorporated into the production of new stainless steel.

What’s Next for Continuous Stainless?

As the company heads into the traditionally busy winter shutdown period for plant maintenance, Continuous Stainless continues to build momentum across a diverse range of industrial fabrication and maintenance projects.

While preparing to celebrate the milestone of 20 years in business, the company remains focused on diversifying its workload and maintaining a consistent pipeline of work throughout the year. Continued investment in its workshop, people, and capabilities keeps the leadership team, tradespeople, and apprentices inspired to design, engineer, and deliver solutions for an increasingly diverse client base.

Supported by an in-house chartered accountant and a strong operational foundation, Continuous Stainless has never been in a stronger position for growth and diversification heading into FY26–27.
