International Stainless Steel Forum (ISSF) has published a media release titled 100 Years of Stainless Steel Video . The Chinese and English versions can be downloaded from the worldstainless website.
This video marks the centenary since stainless steel was first discovered and commercialised. The video will be shown at the 100 Years of Stainless Steel travelling exhibition which started its journey around the world in Beijing, China, on 15 May.
As well as covering the history of stainless steel and its alloying elements, the video also features many applications for this remarkable material from the past until today. It also outlines why demand for stainless steel has increased 10-fold in the 40 years since 1970 and why the industrys long-term growth rate remains above 6%.
The video was prepared by ISSF in partnership with members of the Team Stainless Network which includes: ISSF, Euro Inox, the International Chromium Development Association (ICDA), the International Molybdenum Association (IMOA), and the Nickel Institute.
