Policy planning relates to developing objectives and policies (and methods for their implementation) to help achieve specific outcomes and vision.
With a focus on their long-term needs, Beca Policy Planners can provide the tools and advice to articulate policy initiatives and directions. We favour collaborative strategies and processes to develop policy and guidance to meet community and organisation aspirations and help dovetail plans into the statutory framework to best effect.
Beca has considerable experience in policy development. Our technical leaders and policy planners have the valuable experience and skills to help set vision goals, clarify objectives, formulate policy responses and to establish the methods designed to achieve them. For statutory planning documents, design guidelines or policy statements, Beca staff can assist in managing the process and facilitating policy solutions. This includes developing vision documents, guidance or guidelines, policy statements or planning schemes. Our planners typically lead district or regional plans, preparing changes to existing plans for major development proposals such as business parks or infrastructure and cost-benefit assessments.
We collaboratively work with clients by providing tools and advice required to meet their long term needs. Our services cover coordinating multi-disciplinary and design teams, consulting with local communities and special interest groups and presenting evidence at Council and Court hearings.
