Great engineering begins with a passion for steel. And we put that passion into everything we make.
We design and develop turn-key engineering solutions for the food, wine, manufacturing and processing industries. Our progressive and innovative approach to our work allows us to be highly adaptable to the changing needs of our clients.
Our 2100 square metre workshop includes facilities for machining, sheet metal and heavy fabrication, and glass-bead blasting. We handle light to medium engineering projects and have the capacity to manufacture large-scale products.
As one of the largest engineering companies in Hawke's Bay we are able to support our clients with comprehensive 24/7 maintenance, installation and breakdown support.
We look forward to putting our passion into your project too.
DSK Engineering has come a long way for a company that started out with a workshop in a shipping container.
In the early days, founders Derek Strampel and Shane Kerrisk provided contract maintenance services for Wattie's. After six months Derek decided to leave the business and head off on his OE.
Over the years, DSK has expanded naturally with demand for our experience working in the food processing industry for companies such as ENZA, McCain Foods and Panpac Forest products.
Now, DSK has become one of the largest engineering companies in Hawke's Bay employing over 50 people.
We have a progressive team of knowledgeable project engineers who serve clients throughout New Zealand and offshore.
From our headquarters in Hastings we manufacture a broad range of products in stainless steel, mild steel, aluminium and other metals.
The range of services DSK offers has expanded as a result of a strategic partnership with Crossman Richards Ltd. We now deliver turn-key automation solutions for industrial installations including robotics.
But our success stems entirely from a team of dedicated people who share a passion for steel, and the lasting, profitable relationships we have developed with our clients.
The wine industry has very specific needs and DSK has developed a range of products from maintenance parts to complete laboratory and winery fit outs.
Drawing on our experience in the food processing industry, we create drains, fermenters, walkways, stairs, chutes, hoppers, bottling lines and process pipework.
We have the ability to alter existing equipment, engineer replacement parts, or make new items.
We encourage winemakers and their teams to be involved in the construction process at every stage to ensure we design and deliver an elegant, cost-effective product, and a solution with longevity.
DSK has a long history working with clients in the food processing industry. We recognise that many operations are 24/7 and that they require the same from their engineering and maintenance service providers.
We also know how raw materials pass through the production process to a finished packaged product ready for distribution.
As well as building new installations, DSK relocates plants, and maintains and repairs machinery and equipment used in the food processing industry. Our workshop has the capacity to build whole lines and pre-commission them on site prior to installation.
We involve our clients in the construction process at every stage to ensure we design and deliver elegant, cost-effective solutions focused on operational efficiency and continuity.
Our depth of experience in the food processing industry means we are ideally suited to the strict requirements of the meat processing industry.
We understand how raw materials pass through the production process to a finished packaged product ready for distribution.
All equipment we construct for the meat processing industry considers hygienic manufacture, water containment, worker health and safety, and ease of cleaning, maintenance and operation.
We involve our clients in the construction process at every stage to ensure we design and deliver an elegant, cost-effective product that allows them to process carcasses with greater efficiency.
